Xbox Ultimate Game Sale Returns Next Week

Posted on July 2, 2015 at 5:00 pm by David "Snackbar" Edmundson

While the summer months are typically sparse in terms of new game releases, many fans use the time to delve through backlogs of games accumulated through the first half of the year. Companies also take the opportunity to highlight games people may have missed or are waiting on by dropping prices, like Valve does with their wildly popular annual event, the Steam Summer Sale.

Microsoft is also looking to capitalize on this relative dry spell by presenting Xbox fans with a slew of Mortal Kombat X Launch Trailer Gorodiscounts next week and hoping gamers are more willing to part ways with their hard earned money as the annual Xbox Ultimate Game Sale returns.

Posting from his Twitter account, Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson) reveals some of the games included in the Ultimate Game Sale coming to both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 next week. Through the teaser trailer, gamers can get a glimpse of certain titles that will be part of the event including big names like Mortal Kombat X, Far Cry 4, and Dragon Age Inquisition. As it stands right now, specific sale prices have not been disclosed, though the trailer does promise to feature the best deals of the summer.

Microsoft has promised over 70 titles would be added to the sale with each game getting a 40-50% discount. Xbox Live Gold members get an additional 10% off on top of that as well. The sale is slated to kick off next week and run “all summer long,” though the trailer description does have a date range of July 7-13.

Here are the list of games currently confirmed to be part of the sale:

Ori and the Blind Forest
Mortal Kombat X
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls
Far Cry 4
Dragon Age Inquisition
Assassin’s Creed III
The Orange Box
Slender: The Arrival
Goat Simulator
Injustice: Gods Among Us

It’s no surprise that Microsoft is bringing back this event as earlier this year, it was very successful for them offering deep discounts on games like Halo: The Master Chie,f Collection, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Destiny, and many other titles. While Microsoft has only hinted at some of the games included in next week’s sale, players can get a sense of what to expect based on some of the deals from earlier this year.
