Project Scorpio

Today during its E3 2016 press conference Microsoft revealed a significantly more powerful Xbox One, codenamed Project Scorpio. Obviously we’ll have to wait until next year’s E3 for an idea on the price, but the console is scheduled to hit stores Holiday 2017.

The shiny new box will be rocking a new GPU and features six teraflops of computing capability to pump out 4K resolution for gaming. Yes sir this beast will be able to render at 60 Hz and generate up to 1.21 gigawatts. Probably…

“Project Scorpio will be the next addition to the Xbox One family, and it is ultimately the next step in delivering our vision of gaming beyond generations,” Spencer stated. When it ships next year we believe it’ll be the most powerful console ever built.”

It’s worth noting that all Xbox One consoles, controllers, and games will run on Project Scorpio. Thank goodness!
