Xbox One Gets More Backwards Compatibility, DVR, Win 10, & Chatpad

Microsoft announced and revealed much more at Gamescom 2015 in terms of features and peripherals coming this Fall and beyond to Xbox One. Touching upon Backwards Compatibility, the upcoming DVR, the Windows 10 System Update, and a brand new Chatpad; they’re be much more things to do on the Xbox One.


Originally revealed at E3 earlier this year, the biggest feature was by far was Backwards Compatibility which will feature over 100 titles and in partnership with various well known developers and publishers will be available for all Xbox One users in November. Additionally All future Xbox 360 games featured in the Games with Gold program will be guaranteed to be backwards compatible.


One of the most requested features for the gamers who watch TV on their Xbox One through Cable or Over-The-Air was the ability to record your shows while you’re watching or while you’re away. DVR will be coming in 2016 and will be accessible not only through Xbox One but also through Windows 10 and Smartglass on iOS and Android.


The long awaited update for the Xbox One’s User Interface to create uniformity across all Microsoft platforms will arrive November in the form of Windows 10 along with digital assistance Cortana to the Xbox One. Windows 10 promotes cross-platform features such as purchasing and streaming apps and games seamlessly whichever device you use.


Finally while the 360 had one, a brand new Chatpad for the One will be coming in November. This ultimately fulfills the needs of those who want to type or access features without pulling up the dashboard, using Smartglass or utilizing Kinect’s voice commands.
