Warlords of Draenor Cinematic

Blizzard announced today World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor will launch on November 13. To help add to the excitement they’ve also unleashed the Warlords of Draenor cinematic, which shows a crucial turning point for the orcs of old.

I’m a little fuzzy on my orc lore, but I believe the orcs were tricked into drinking the blood of the Pit Lord Monnoroth (that giant demon looking f*cker), which would corrupt them into savage beasts and ultimately slaves to the Burning Legion. For those of you that don’t know, the Burning Legion is an army of demons and corrupted races out to destroy the order of the universe. In short, the ultimate bad guys.

In the video you’ll see a sneaky warlock looking orc named Gul’dan try to convince Grommash, the orc chieftain of the Warsong Clan and father to Garrosh, to drink from the cup. Unfortunately for the Burning Legion, Grommash has a change of heart, thus altering the timeline that has brought us all the way through from World of Warcraft‘s launch to its current expansion Mists of Pandaria.

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor will launch with several new in-game features including a level 90 boost and Garrisons. Allowing players to boost one character to level 90 right off the bat is a nice touch. Sometimes players just need to mix things up for a new expansion and starting over from level 1 is a daunting task.

The addition to building Garrisons is an interesting concept, especially for a game that already feels like a full time job. I’m curious to see how players will react to having additional chores to tend to. However, I do like the idea of claiming a piece of real estate to call your own. So much time is invested in this game so why not have a plece to call home?
