Wii U Zelda Bundle

Today Nintendo announced a $50 price drop on the Wii U Deluxe version cutting the price down to $300. This news comes just two weeks after Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said price wasn’t the issue in regards to the console’s lack of sales. The price cut will be effective September 20, starting with a limited-edition Wii U bundle featuring The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD.

The limited-edition bundle includes a black Wii U Deluxe console; a GamePad controller with gold lettering, a download code for a digital version of Hyrule Historia, and finally a free download code for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD from the Nintendo eShop. It’s important to note the digital version of Wind Waker will be available for download on September 20, while the disc version with gold-foil packaging hits retail on October 4. Both versions will be sold at $49.99, although, GameStop has an exclusive Ganondorf figure bundled with the packaged version listed at $54.99.

It’s no secret the Gang at Geek Legacy believes in the Wii U. I encourage you to check out our Wii U WheelHouse Campaign, where we review all of our favorite titles available on Nintendo’s innovative console. It’s true we can’t argue there was a tremendous lack in software over the last 10 months, but we look forward to Wii U’s strong lineup finishing out the year.

“Nintendo has one of the strongest and most diverse video game lineups in our history,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s president and COO.
