Warner Bros. Working on an Animated SCOOBY-DOO Feature Film

Posted on August 27, 2013 at 12:01 am by David "Snackbar" Edmundson

Warner Bros. produced two live action Scooby-Doo films in 2002 and 2004. The films grossed a combined $457 million worldwide. Critics were not kind to the films, but the financial success of the movies guaranteed future endeavors. Probably trying to avoid the cost of paying humans, Warner Bros. is planning to make the next installment of Scooby-Doo the old fashioned way, animated. Variety reports the studio is developing an animated Scooby-Doo feature film, more than likely of the computer-animated ilk. Although, a hand drawn animation in the style of the original Hanna-Barbera series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, that premiered in 1969 would make me feel warm and cozy inside.  Scooby-Doo was a big part of my childhood, so I will root for a fun, fresh adaptation.

Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, who produced the 2002 entry, return to produce the reboot. Matt Lieberman will write the script.
