Virtual Console for Wii U

Posted on January 23, 2013 at 2:32 pm by Justin Cavender

Virtual Console

A spring system update will add Virtual Console games to the Nintendo eShop for Wii U. The service will include NES and Super NES games. Eventually, other platforms like the Game Boy Advance will be added in the future.

The prices for NES and Super NES Virtual Console games will run $5-$6 and $8-$9 respectively. Those who have already purchased the Wii version of Virtual Console games and transferred them to their Wii U console can buy the enhanced Wii U version of the same game for the reduced price of $1 (NES games) and $1.50 (Super NES games).

Players will be able to save back-ups of their games and play off-TV on the Wii U GamePad.

    • I'm all for anything that promotes vintage gaming. If I had a Wii U I would be blowing some serious cash on this so I don't have to use the "blow and bang" method of getting my old NES to work!

Glad to see I can sort of transfer my Virtual Console games from my Wii.
