One of my most-anticipated shows of the summer is HBO’s Vice Principals. The series centers on two warring vice principals (Danny McBride and Walton Goggins) of a public high school, who eventually team up to take down the new principal (Kimberly Hébert Gregory). It looks hilarious, and I’m very excited to see the follow up series from the folks that brought us the classic Eastbound and Down.

HBO has released a new trailer for the series along with a conversation with McBride and Goggins. The trailer is the first look at the plot of the series, while the conversation with the two actors helps to provide some insight into their characters, and how their childish behavior mirrors the students they’re supposed to be overseeing.

Check out the trailer and conversation below. The series premieres on HBO on July 17th at 10:30pm EST.

Here’s the official synopsis for Vice Principals:

Created by Danny McBride and Jody Hill, who also created HBO’s “Eastbound & Down,” VICE PRINCIPALS is a dark comedy series that tells the story of a high school and the two people who almost run it, the vice principals. McBride and Goggins star as the rival administrators, who are in an epic power struggle, vying for the top spot: to be school principal. The half-hour show is slated for 18 episodes over two seasons. Premieres July 2016.
