Welcome to Tyler’s Comic Corner, where I highlight the majority of this week’s new comic releases. My highlights include mainstream and indie titles, ensuring your pull list won’t be deprived of one of this week’s gems. My apologies if your favorite isn’t listed, but good news; you clearly already knew it was coming!

Fans of the series will recall a time when Doc Ock Spidey disappeared for what appeared to be only a moment, but now we find out it exactly where he really went. What’s more, this book kick off the massive Spider-Verse event, so no Spidey fan will want to miss it. If you’re still riding the high from seeing Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend, there’s also lots for you to love, with new issues of both Rocket Raccoon and Legendary Star-Lord this week as well.

Tiny Titans Return To The Treehouse #3 (Of 6)
Trinity Of Sin The Phantom Stranger #22

Perfect Pulls: This week sees the end of one of the least appreciated but genuinely good titles coming out of DC. Batwing wraps up this week, and is a perfect example of a book that maybe could have been saved with a better push from the publisher. What started out as a pretty lousy title (sorry, but the original Batwing was just a terrible character) suddenly found itself redeemed when Luke Fox took over the role instead. However, the damage had been done, and though the quality had dramatically improved it wasn’t enough to save it. Do yourself a favor and don’t skip on trades for this one, so long as they’re all about Luke. The Doomed event continues this week as well, in both the pages of Action Comics and Superman Wonder Woman Annual #1, and this event just gets better and better. Finally, if you’re a fan of gritty Batman detective stories, than grab the latest chapter of Icarus in the pages of Detective Comics.
