Welcome to Tyler’s Comic Corner, where I highlight the majority of this week’s new comic releases. My highlights include mainstream and indie titles, ensuring your pull list won’t be deprived of one of this week’s gems. My apologies if your favorite isn’t listed, but good news; you clearly already knew it was coming!

Perfect Pulls: It’s the end of an era! This week sees the ending of two of Marvel’s finest offering, Avengers and New Avengers. Of course, there isn’t much sadness to be had, as those books are falling to the wayside only to make room for the rapidly approaching Secret Wars, which is also helmed by Hickman. But still, those books were so dang good that I can’t help but miss them! Seriously, if you missed out on those runs, go buy them. They’re not only outstanding reads, but they’re also essential reading to understand how Secret Wars is going to come about. There are other good Marvel books out this week, but I can’t even mention them here… it’s too important to me to stress to you how much you need both of these Avengers books in your life!

Perfect Pulls: Finally, a reason to be excited for DC books again! No, there isn’t a Convergence title to look forward to; let’s be frank, that whole thing is a hot mess, and I can’t recommend a single part of it. Sorry DC, I tried, but… yeesh. However, you should still be excited for Justice League #40 kicking off the Darkseid War event, for Multiversity #2 to continue the mind-freak that is one of Grant Morrison’s coolest titles, and most importantly, the end of Endgame in Batman #40! See, DC can still do some things right!

Also this week, make sure you don’t miss the latest issues of Fuse, Invincible, Bitch Planet and a double-dose of Jim Zub goodness in Skullkickers and Wayward!

Quantum And Woody Must Die #4 (Of 4)

Perfect Pulls: There’s a lot of cool stuff this week from the indies. From finding out if you-know-who is really d-e-a-d in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #45, to the latest zombie/viking goodness in Brides of Helheim, to the final chapter of the panda-killing Quantum and Woody Must Die, there’s a whole bunch of reasons to give the indies your hard-earned dough. But no reason is more intriguing than Order of the Forge #1 from Dark Horse. A young George Washington chopping off zombie heads with his friends Ben Franklin and Paul Revere? Taglines like “I cannot tell a lie. I f**king hate zombies.” and “great for fans of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” in the solicit? Consider me sold!

Those are the highlights for Wednesday, April 29th. Anything you simply can’t live without, or simply can’t imagine reading? Share it in the comments!
