Tyler’s Comic Corner – 3/30/16 Edition

Posted on March 30, 2016 at 5:23 am by Tyler Waterman

Welcome to Tyler’s Comic Corner, where I highlight the majority of this week’s new comic releases. My highlights include mainstream and indie titles, ensuring your pull list won’t be deprived of one of this week’s gems. My apologies if your favorite isn’t listed, but good news; you clearly already knew it was coming!

herc5covMarvel Releases

All-New All-Different Marvel Universe #1
All-New X-Men #7
Amazing Spider-Man #1.4
Captain America Sam Wilson #7
Daredevil #5
Darth Vader #18
Drax #5
Hercules #5
Marvel Universe Ultimate Spider-Man Contest Of Champions #1
Max Ride Ultimate Flight #5 (Of 5)
Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur #5
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #6
X-Men ’92 #1

Perfect Pulls: It’s a lighter load for a lot of companies this week due to the Easter holiday, but while Marvel’s list may be slightly shorter than most, it’s loaded with stuff I’m excited about. I’ll take as much Hercules as I can before it gets canned, so I’m always happy to see that. Naturally, new issues of Daredevil and Darth Vader are always good news. Throw in the latest Amazing Spider-Man tie-in/mini/I don’t know what to call those weird books with decimals and All-New X-Men and there’s plenty to love on the Marvel shelf today.

AQM50covDC Releases

Aquaman #50
Batman And Robin Eternal #26
Justice League Of America #8
Omega Men #10
Suiciders Kings Of Hell.A. #1 (Of 6)

Perfect Pulls: I know this looks like a slow week for DC, and you’re not wrong. But I’ll be honest. I get a new Batman and Robin EternalAquaman #50 follows up what looked to be the start of beautiful things last month, and Suiciders returns with a new mini? I still feel like I’m getting a load of killer books from the house that Batman built today!

pl1covImage Releases

Astronauts In Trouble #10 (Of 11)
Black Science #21
Elephantmen #69
Four Eyes Hearts Of Fire #3 (Of 4)
Postal #11
Power Lines #1 (Of 6)
Revival #38
Saga #35
They’re Not Like Us #12
Wayward #15

Perfect Pulls: Image plays the race card hard this week in Power Lines. What happens when a black kid from the streets gets superpowers, but they only work in affluent white neighborhoods? This is a question I have never asked myself, but apparently I’m going to find out. If you’re not looking to get that intense… well, sorry, I’ve got nothing for you. Image books are pretty much always intense, but hey, there’s a new Saga out today!

Perfect Pulls: No one told IDW to take the week off, and that clerical error means cool comics for us! Their new Deviations line continues this week, this time hitting the Ninja Turtles with a tale of how different they’d be if they were raised by the Shredder instead! I love cool What If?-style stories, so I’m all about this one-shot today. They’ve also got their latest Godzilla offering, featuring a parallel dimension ruled by giant monsters, with Godzilla as their king. (And rightfully so.) Along with a new issue of Faith from Valiant and a few of Dark Horse’s best and this week doesn’t seem that slow after all!

Those are the highlights for Wednesday, March 30th. Anything you simply can’t live without, or simply can’t imagine reading? Share it in the comments!
