Tyler’s Comic Corner – 3/2/16 Edition

Posted on March 2, 2016 at 1:24 pm by Tyler Waterman

Welcome to Tyler’s Comic Corner, where I highlight the majority of this week’s new comic releases. My highlights include mainstream and indie titles, ensuring your pull list won’t be deprived of one of this week’s gems. My apologies if your favorite isn’t listed, but good news; you clearly already knew it was coming!

bw1covMarvel Releases

A-Force #3
Amazing Spider-Man And Silk The Spider Fly Effect #1 (Of 4)
Avengers Standoff Assault On Pleasant Hill Alpha #1
Black Widow #1
Darth Vader #17
Deadpool #8
Guardians Of Infinity #4
Invincible Iron Man #7
New Avengers #7
Nova #5
Old Man Logan #3
Spider-Man #2
Uncanny Avengers #6
Uncanny X-Men #4

Perfect Pulls: The deadliest of Marvel’s spiders is finally back in the solo book game, and I couldn’t be happier about it! Black Widow #1 looks to be just as stunning as the last volume, only this time the dynamic duo of Samnee and Waid are at the helm, and I can’t wait to see what they do with Natasha. Meanwhile, we’ve actually found a way to add another word to the Pleasant Hill nonsense title! However, I really loved the first book, so despite my ribbing of the title, you should absolutely take a look at this event. And did I mention Spider-Man #2? Today is a good day!

GL50covDC Releases

Batgirl #49
Batman ’66 Meets The Man From U.N.C.L.E. #4 (Of 6)
Batman And Robin Eternal #22
Batman Beyond #10
DC Comics Bombshells #10
Green Lantern #50
Injustice Gods Among Us Year Five #5
Midnighter #10
Omega Men #9
Scooby-Doo Team-Up #15
Sheriff Of Babylon #4 (Of 12)
Survivors’ Club #6
Swamp Thing #3 (Of 6)
Unfollow #5

Perfect PullsGreen Lantern #50 is probably the first book I’ll read this NCBD. Parallax Hal versus Renegade Hal? I am all about this, I don’t even care if it sounds like fanfiction! Definitely going to be sad to see this one end come Rebirth. Also this week, don’t miss a new Midnighter, and the latest Batman and Robin Eternal.

td1covImage Releases

Deadly Class #19
Discipline #1
Fuse #18
IXth Generation #8
Prophet Earth War #2 (Of 6)
Revival #37
Saints #6
Thrilling Adventure Hour Presents Beyond Belief #3 (Of 4)
Violent #3
Walking Dead #152

Perfect Pulls: I suspect Sex Criminals fans are going to be all about The Discipline #1, the latest book from Image. The solicit manages to tell you this book is sexually loaded at least a hundred times, and also promises a dark tale of metamorphosis, whatever that means. This isn’t my thing, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad; hope all you sexy babies get off on this one too! I’ll be reading The Walking Dead #152, because the survivors are militarizing, and I can’t wait to see how badly that ends for them.

Perfect Pulls: Remember that time Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #0 came out and it was really, really good? Great news: issue #1 is out today! I can’t wait to see how this series continues, now this is a book I wish came out weekly! Also, if you’ve ever though She-Ra was a badass (spoilers: she is), you may want to check out Oni’s Another Castle. Featuring a princess who does not need saving, and a killer art style very reminiscent of the aforementioned sister of He-Man, it looks to be the kind of book people lament there aren’t enough of.

Those are the highlights for Wednesday, March 2nd. Anything you simply can’t live without, or simply can’t imagine reading? Share it in the comments!
