Tyler’s Comic Corner – 3/11/15 Edition

Posted on March 11, 2015 at 3:00 am by Tyler Waterman

Welcome to Tyler’s Comic Corner, where I highlight the majority of this week’s new comic releases. My highlights include mainstream and indie titles, ensuring your pull list won’t be deprived of one of this week’s gems. My apologies if your favorite isn’t listed, but good news; you clearly already knew it was coming!

Star Wars #3
Superior Iron Man #6
Thor #6
Wolverines #10

Perfect Pulls: Fans of Nova know that right now, Sam Alexander is proving that not wearing your helmet is indeed a dangerous thing. Well, to be fair, he is wearing it; but when your helmet is one of the most advanced pieces of alien tech in the galaxy and also malfunctioning, having it on is just as dangerous as not having it at all. In today’s Nova Annual #1, Sam enlists the help of Doc “Don’t Call me Hulk” Green to repair it, and naturally, fixing it is going to be just as dangerous as leaving it broken. Also this week, the post-Spider-Verse dust settles across several Spider-books, including Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Gwen #2, and of course Amazing Spider-Man. Spidey-fans also won’t want to miss ASM Special #1, kicking off a mini crossover with Inhuman and All-New Captain America.

Batman Eternal #49
Coffin Hill #16
Constantine #23
Detective Comics Endgame #1 (One Shot)

Mortal Kombat X #4
New 52 Futures End #45
New Suicide Squad #8
Scooby-Doo Where Are You #55
Smallville Season 11 Continuity #4 (Of 4)
Worlds’ Finest #32

Perfect Pulls: Today marks the final issue of Green Lantern Corps, and it looks to be going out with a literal bang. While the explosives may be all tease and no show, considering Van Jensen’s track record, don’t be surprised if he shatters John Stewart’s heart as many times as he can before the end! Or, maybe he’ll do something nice to make up for all the heartache… but somehow that’s now where my money is. Also this week, while it’s been surprisingly devoid of tie-ins, the Endgame storyline dominating Batman right now makes its way into the pages of Detective Comics, so if you’re one of those masochists who only read the main Batbook, make sure you don’t ignore this one this week.

Casanova Acedia #2
East Of West #18
Ghosted #18
Postal #2
Sheltered #15
Shutter #10
Sidekick #10
Sinergy #5
Southern Cross #1
Spawn Resurrection #1
Surface #1
Walking Dead #138

Perfect Pulls: The second part of Spawn‘s milestone celebration hits shelves this week, and it looks pretty great! After the oversized Spawn #250 a few weeks back, this week sees the one-shot Spawn: Resurrection, where Al Simmons retakes the stage as Spawn yet again! I’ve always had a soft spot for this series, and I can say that this is one of the biggest shakeups the series has seen in a long time, so if you’ve ever thought about diving in, now is a great time to do it! Image also has two more premiers with Southern Cross and Surface, along with more familiar faces like East of West, Shutter and The Walking Dead.

Valiant Entertainment:

Perfect Pulls: One of the most anticipated books Valiant fans have been begging for since 2012 finally hits your local shop today, and believe me, it was worth the wait! Ninjak #1 doesn’t just answer our calls for a solo Ninjak title, it also brings with it 40 pages of content every month, including a back-up feature called Lost Files. That back-up promises to unveil the hidden origins of Ninjak, and looks so excellent it could be its own stand-alone series. Combine that with the latest issue of Unity and Valiant fans have a lot to be excited about today. Also this week, don’t miss new issues of IDW’s epic Ragnarok, the latest Sixth Gun spinoff from Oni, new Magnus from Dynamite, and BOOM! bringing the nostalgia game to another level with new issues of Big Trouble, Escape from New York, and the premier of Bill and Ted’s Most Triumphant Return!

Those are the highlights for Wednesday, March 11th. Anything you simply can’t live without, or simply can’t imagine reading? Share it in the comments!
