Tyler’s Comic Corner – 11/18/15 Edition

Posted on November 18, 2015 at 6:00 am by Tyler Waterman

Welcome to Tyler’s Comic Corner, where I highlight the majority of this week’s new comic releases. My highlights include mainstream and indie titles, ensuring your pull list won’t be deprived of one of this week’s gems. My apologies if your favorite isn’t listed, but good news; you clearly already knew it was coming!

bk1covMarvel Releases

Astonishing Ant-Man #2
Black Knight #1
Captain America Sam Wilson #3
Dark Tower The Drawing Of The Three Lady Of Shadows #3 (Of 5)
Deadpool #2
Extraordinary X-Men #2
Kanan #8
Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble Season Two #13
Mighty Thor #1
Ms. Marvel #1
New Avengers #3
Secret Wars Too #1
Spider-Woman #1
Star Wars #12
Star Wars Vader Down #1
Star-Lord #1
Uncanny Avengers Annual #1
Uncanny Inhumans #2

Perfect Pulls: I’ve talked at length (maybe more like ad nauseam) about my forced “boycott” of Marvel books until Secret Wars ends. (I use that word as loosely as humanly possible; it’s not much of a boycott when you’re still buying the books, you just can’t read them.) However, I’m breaking that rule this week, because there’s no way I can wait to read Black Knight. Look, I get it; Black Knight isn’t a character many people were clamoring for. But the core concept of the character is really cool, despite the West Coast Avenger-ing that buried him in the minds of fans. In a world where Karnak can be a certified badass, there’s no reason this book shouldn’t be as badass as the cover makes it look, so count me in for this one!

bme1covDC Releases

Action Comics #46
Astro City #29
Batman ’66 #29
Batman And Robin Eternal #7
Batman Arkham Knight Genesis #4 (Of 6)
Batman Europa #1 (Of 4)
Bizarro #6 (Of 6)

Green Lantern The Lost Army #6
Harley Quinn #22
Martian Manhunter #6
New Suicide Squad #14
Red Thorn #1
Secret Six #8
Telos #2
Titans Hunt #2 (Of 12)

Perfect Pulls: It’s an early Christmas miracle; Batman Europa is actually coming out today! No, seriously! The book announced a whopping 11 years ago finally hits shelves again, and believe me, I’m not actually hating here. Getting Jim Lee on Batman again (even if it is only one issue) is certainly worth the wait! I’m really looking forward to finally reading this, which is just another in what has to be a little Golden Age for Batfans like myself.

tg3covImage Releases

Phonogram The Immaterial Girl #4 (Of 6)
Pretty Deadly #6

Tokyo Ghost #3
Wayward #11

Perfect Pulls: It’s a light load from Image this week, but considering how many new books they’ve been hooking me on lately, I can’t complain! I won’t come out completely unscathed, however; not with new issues of Tokyo Ghost, Invincible, and Wayward all seeing new entries this week. Image always finds a way to get in my wallet!

Perfect Pulls: Sometimes you see a new book is coming out and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt you’re going to love it. This week, that book is Wrath of the Eternal Warrior. Spinning out of the huge bombshell at the end of Book of Death, this book marks Gilad’s first ongoing solo book (I know, I was surprised too), and based on the previews it looks to be spectacular. After I finish diving into that, I’ll be following it up with some Bloodshot Reborn, Dynamite’s Voltron From the Ashes, the of course the latest Star Trek Green Lantern, one of my guiltiest pleasures!

Those are the highlights for Wednesday, November 18th. Anything you simply can’t live without, or simply can’t imagine reading? Share it in the comments!
