Two Zelda Games Coming to Wii U

Posted on January 23, 2013 at 12:32 pm by Justin Cavender

You read that correctly folks, two Zelda games are on the books to be released for the Nintendo Wii U console. The announcement came this  morning during the Nintendo Direct video presentation confirming an HD remake of Zelda Wind Waker and a new Zelda adventure.

The Wind Waker HD remake promises to upgrade the graphics and  tune up the overall game experience. Gamers can also play off-TV on the Wii U GamePad and will be Miiverse compatible. Wind Waker HD is expected to be released in the fall of 2013.

On the other hand, the new Zelda entry will take a bit longer for release. Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma said the new Wii U entry’s mission statement is to “rethink the conventions of Zelda.” The idea of completing dungeons in a certain order and playing by yourself will bring the game back to the basics. This will give new players the chance to enjoy the essence of Zelda.

What do you guys think? Are you excited to get your Zelda groove on?

    • Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game. The fact that it has been announced for WiiU makes me actually want a WiiU now.
