Paramount Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for director Jonathan Liebesmans (Battle: LA) reboot Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There’s not a lot of footage here, so it’s tough to make a judgment call beyond being unsure who this movie is aimed at. It looks like they’re trying to make it in the vein of Transformers, and why not, Transformers is a huge property. They’re certainly appealing to the nostalgia of older viewers. We get a good look at the turtles, and they look really cool, more life like than in the original films. Surprisingly most people I talk to don’t know a new Ninja Turtles movie is coming, so this will be a nice surprise for a lot of people. Now it’s a matter of evaluating the response. What do you think?
The film also stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn, and William Fichtner. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens on August 8th.
Here’s the synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:
