Trailer and Choose Your Own Adventure Clip for ROBOT CHICKEN’S DC COMICS SPECIAL 3

Choose Your Own Adventure books launched in 1979 and really blew up in popularity through the 80s and 90s. If you were kid then, you may remember competing with friends to see who could get the best outcome in the first run-through, or maybe you were the kind of kid who cheated by reading the first paragraph of each option before continuing. Either way, it was a fun way to read in a different and more active way.

Adult Swim has taken this idea and applied it to the trailer for Robot Chicken’s upcoming “DC Comics Special 3,” which is a smart and fun way to unlock teasers from the special. Though things start out swell for Batman and Superman, they can escalate quickly (as one of the first robot-chicken-dc-comics-special-3-image-600x338options is “start some shit”). The “DC Comic Special” started in 2012, with a follow-up in 2014, and have featured the voice talents of Paul Reubens and Neil Patrick Harrisin the past. This year, Adam West and Burt Ward (Batman and Robin from the 60s Batman TV show) will be joining the group, along with Seth Green, Matt Senreich, Breckin Meyer, Alfred Molina, Nathan Fillion, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Giovanni Ribisi, Jonathan Banks, Mae Whitman, and Alex Borstein.

Check out the Choose Your Own Adventure trailer below, but first, there’s a NSFW trailer for the special that debuted at New York Comic-Con, featuring Batman explaining the weaknesses of other DC characters to Robin. Also, stick around for the stinger where Catwoman discovers her deep love for Christmas movies starring cats …

The trailer that debuted at NYCC is a little better than the cut from SDCC, so some changes might have been made (or maybe just some better edits). Regardless, you can check out the special in full on October 18th at midnight on Adult Swim.
