Toy Soldiers: War Chest

Ubisoft released a new video for Toy Soldiers: War Chest, which highlights hero customization. In the game, the hero character is allowed to bring primary and secondary weapons into battle. This could mean a pistol or sniper rifle as a primary weapon, and an anti-tank weapon or gatling gun for a secondary weapon.

We had the chance to get our geeky hands on Toy Soldiers: War Chest during PAX last month. I took control of the Kaiser hero and laid waste to countless enemy fairies and teddy bears using the gatling gun. I never bothered with the anti-tank weapon, mainly because I had large artillery set up in the back of my base to destroy tanks as they approached my line of death.

In the end, the teddy bears got the best of me and I lost the battle during the final wave. The learning curve started off easy, but quickly hit the fan around waves four and five. It’s worth mentioning my demo was a pre-alpha build, but I was impressed with the gameplay mechanics at this very early stage of development.

Toy Soliders: War Chest will be available in 2015 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
