Top 5 Favorite Scenes To Stuff Your Face With

Posted on November 28, 2013 at 11:22 am by Jess Hicks

Despite what retailers and radio stations want you to think there is a holiday BEFORE Christmas and it is upon us. So in honor of Thanksgiving, the holiday that gets no thanks at all, I have compiled a top 5 list of my favorite movie scenes featuring people stuffing their faces. So put on your loosest pants and fill up your plate with round three of your favorite pies while I share these interesting movie moments.

5.Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Pure Imagination)

What would a food list be without mention of every child’s dream land, Willly Wonka’s Chocolate Factory? It was hard to pick my favorite scene from this colorful tasty film but I decided the intro to the factory “Pure Imagination” would be the ideal choice. Even 30 years later the entire scene is pretty damn impressive. As a kid Willy Wonka was never my favorite movie but as I got older I appreciated it for it’s amazing performances and brilliant sets. “Pure Imagination” really captures the entire essence of the film… and doesn’t send you into a nightmare induced panic attack like the tunnel scene.

4. A Christmas Story (Chinese Dinner)

It’s not the holidays without Ralphie and his regular joe family having a not so regular Christmas dinner. Aside from getting a Red Ryder Bee Bee Gun the main focus of the movie is having the perfect Christmas. Pretty much through the entire movie we get scenes of Ralphie’s mom preparing the most delicious turkey you have ever scene in your life. Sadly it’s completely ruined by the neighbor’s dogs thus sending Ralphie and his family to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. This is one of the most memorable scenes of all holiday movies and makes us all thankful we don’t have to worry about blood hounds assailing our family dinners.

3. Harry Potter (Great Hall Feast)

I couldn’t pick a specific Harry Potter movie because let’s be honest, there is delicious food in almost every single one. I did, however, pick a specific scene that happens in a couple of the films. The amazing Great Hall feast with all of it’s magical refilling pastries and pies and turkeys and breads and, and, and! I could go on forever but for me this was something that really awed me when I finally got to see one of my favorite book series come alive. I mean who doesn’t want magical refilling food?

2 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Dinner at the Palace)

Temple of Doom is my favorite Indiana Jones movie, I don’t care what you say. It’s full of adventure and humor and harbors some of the most memorable scenes in the series. The one that sticks out most is the infamous dinner sequence when Indy and his pals sit down for a dinner at the royal palace. Sure, it’s completely insensitive to the culture but it does make for some entertaining screen time.

1. Nightmare on Elm Street 5 (Greta’s Death)

It wouldn’t be a list from me if I didn’t include a horror movie right? Now granted this isn’t a good movie by any stretch of the imagination but it does have some of my favorite deaths. Greta’s is by far the grossest and most memorable from this sequel and I had to include it. Not only is it just terrible and in poor taste but I think it really encompasses how we all feel after our multiple plates of  sugar and carbs.
