Whoever is running the marketing campaign for Sony’s shark movie The Shallows deserves a raise. The Blake Lively-fronted thriller, which revolves around a surfer who is attacked by a shark and subsequently stranded 200 yards from shore, was flying way under the radar until an insanely compelling debut trailer arrived. The marketing has continued to be wonderfully unique, focusing on the atmosphere and feel of the movie rather than the story, and that’s certainly the case with the final trailer that was released today.

This new look at the film is a great twist on standard marketing. It’s gorgeous, different, and wildly compelling—it makes you want to see this movie instead of just letting you passively ingest yet another ho-hum trailer that follows traditional structure.

This self-contained thriller hails from director Jaume Collet-Serra, who’s best known for helming the stylish Liam Neeson thrillers Non-Stop, Run All Night, and Unknown after first breaking out with 2009’s Orphan. He was at one time attached to direct an Akira movie, and seeing how gorgeously he captures this landscape, I’m eager to see Collet-Serra move outside the box of those action-thrillers and try his hand at different kinds of palettes. Working with his longtime cinematographer Flavio Martínez Labiano, the colors here are especially vibrant, and I remain eager to check this out on the big screen.

Take a look at the final trailer for The Shallows below. The film opens in theaters on June 29th.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Shallows:

In the taut thriller The Shallows, when Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.
