The Legend of Zelda for Wii U Delayed Again

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U E3

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U has been hit with another delay, this time taking us all the way to 2017. However, this latest installment to the beloved franchise is scheduled to release simultaneously for both Wii U and NX. Furthermore, according to Nintendo both versions of the game have been in development in tandem and the delay is a result of the developers needing more time to polish the game.

While the new Nintendo NX console will not be making an appearance at this year’s E3 trade show in June–you can count on The Legend of Zelda for Wii U to be playable on the showroom floor. Interestingly enough, it will be the only playable demo in Nintendo’s arsenal “in order to provide attendees a complete immersion.”

We here at Geek Legacy are a little sad about Zelda’s delay. Honestly, after Star Fox Zero we can’t think of any upcoming titles exclusive to Wii U for the remainder of 2016. Perhaps replaying Twilight Princess HD and Wind Waker HD will hold us over for another year.
