The Legend of Hercules

The Legend of Hercules opens in theaters this week and I wanted to share an exclusive “battle clip” from Machinima. Today was the first time I’ve had a chance to learn more about this film and I’m left shaking my head. It’s not the violence, tone, or setting, but rather the poor execution of this fight scene. The choreography is a little slow and hardly exciting. When I think of Hercules, I imagine a man with super strength and would easily destroy the two jacks in the arena. Perhaps this scene would have been cooler if it were Hercules vs. 30 gladiators. Maybe something along the lines of the Bride fighting the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill. Anyway, if you aren’t bothered by the cheesy slow-motion, lousy choreography, and an under-powered Hercules, than this film is for you.

In the epic origin story THE LEGEND OF HERCULES, Kellan Lutz stars as the mythical Greek hero – the son of Zeus, a half-god, half-man blessed with extraordinary strength. Betrayed by his stepfather, the King, and exiled and sold into slavery because of a forbidden love, Hercules must use his formidable powers to fight his way back to his rightful kingdom. Through harrowing battles and gladiator-arena death matches, Hercules embarks on a legendary odyssey to overthrow the King and restore peace to the land.

The Legend of Hercules stars Kellan Lutz, Scott Adkins, Liam McIntyre, Liam Garrigan, Jonathan Schaech, Roxanne McKee, Gaia Weiss, Rade Serbedzija and hits theaters January 10.
