Didn’t I just get a special edition of this? WELL I guess I just have to buy another one! Yesterday Warner Bros announced they will be releasing a 40th edition of William Friedkin’s The Exorcist. It will feature the Extended Directors Cut, Theatrical Cut and new special features. It’s set to hit stores on October 8th of this year. Today we got a look at the cover art, which is just as cool as the last special edition’s cover art.Check it out below!

But not before I treat you to a little anecdote about this movie. I first saw The Exorcist as a young teen (maybe pre-teen) and to me it was the most hilarious film I had ever seen! With all it’s dirty words and hilarious scenes like when Regan wets herself in front of her mothers friends. Flash forward some years, with a more developed brain and a bigger appreciation for horror, and film in general, I sat down to watch it again. By myself. At night. With surround sound. So I’m sitting there enjoying my film, no longer thinking it’s completely hilarious (notice I said completely…it has it’s moments) when the infamous spider walk scene happens. Mind you I know what this scene is, have seen it many times. However, on the dark night alone in my house something happened. For the first time, in a long time, I actually got scared by an classic horror film. Hearing her speed down those stairs in surround sound was one of the most frightening experiences I have had watching a movie. So¬†what I am trying to say is that The Exorcist deserves all of the recognition it gets. It’s not only a great horror film but a great film in general.

Now for the art…
