The CW Announces Eight Series Pickups Including Supernatural

Posted on January 12, 2015 at 12:30 pm by Justin Cavender

The CW announced yesterday that eight of its current series have been picked up for the 2015-2016 season. Geeks of genre programing rejoice as Arrow, The Flash, and The Vampire Diaries return, along with Supernatural, which by the way will be its 11th season. Holy smokes!

“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW.  “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”

Returning Series:

  • Arrow (Season 4)
  • The Flash (Season 2)
  • Reign (Season 3)
  • The Originals (Season 3)
  • Supernatural (Season 11)
  • The Vampire Diaries (Season 7)
  • The 100 (Season 3)
  • Jane The Virgin (Season 2)

Supernatural is a nice surprise and I hope after 10 seasons the show can find ways to keep us interested and coming back for more. Both Arrow and The Flash continue to impress and their crossover events will always be something to look forward to in upcoming seasons. Which returning series on the CW are you most excited for in 2015?
