The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game developer walkthrough showcases many new features we can expect to see when our web-slinging hero arrives on multiple platforms on April 29. I definitely like how players will use the left and right triggers to swing from buildings on either side, as opposed to imaginary points in the sky like in the first game. Also included are new abilities like swing boost, catapult, and horizontal wall running. Perhaps we might be fortunate enough to get a real feel for swinging in Spidey’s boots.
New to the series is a chance to walk around as Peter Parker. When you return home after a long night of fighting crime, you can change your wardrobe into a plethora of different Spidey suits. Other options include replaying missions and purchasing upgrades for your suit.
My biggest complaint with video games these days are the lack of different character models for enemies. Especially, in an open world environment where no matter how far I travel, I’m still fighting some dude’s octuplet. It’s not a deal breaker, but rather more of a buzzkill. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Spider-Man can beat the crap out of a variety of baddies this time around.
