Syfy has cancelled Alphas, the series about a group of people with superhuman abilities who team up to solve crimes, after two seasons. Not even the incredible David Strathairn could keep the show afloat after just slightly over 1 million viewers tuned into the season two finale in October.

SyFy released the following statement to The Hollywood Reporter;

“We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”

I checked out the first couple episodes of the first season, and found it fun and engaging. The shifting schedule and decrease in my TV watching time made me give it up though.
