When it comes to fighting games, Street Fighter is arguably the greatest franchise in video game history. Over the last quarter of a century, gamers around the globe have spent countless hours trying to perfect their moves, strategy, and overall skills to be the best player they can be.

What is about Street Fighter that has left such a lasting appeal on the gaming community? Why after 25 years do we keep coming back to this series? Is it the characters, gameplay, tournaments, rivalries, tears of joy or sadness? Perhaps it’s simply all these things rolled into one package that completes the Street Fighter experience. Watching reactions from the fans during the matchup between Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara is all part of the magic.
