Kingdoms of Amalur

Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios closed its doors in May 2012, but luckily for us Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is still alive and kicking. In fact, Steam has the RPG action-adventure on sale this weekend for the low price of $6. Steam users also have the option to buy the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Collection for $12, which includes all DLC for the game.

Kingdoms of Amalur is set in a bright and fantastical world created by NY Times bestselling¬†author R.A. Salvatore (The DemonWars Saga), Todd McFarlane (Spawn), and Ken Rolston (lead disigner for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion). This game is loaded with gorgeous environments that will have players wanting to explore every nook and cranny on their map. I encourage you to leave no stone unturned along your journey or you’ll miss out on some fun and interesting lore.

The combat system is both unique and intuitive. Players can swap weapons, magic, and abilities on the fly leading to devastating combos. Furthermore, your character is not bound to any specific class and you may change your fighting style at any point in the game by simply visiting a fate weaver.

Check out the combat trailer below to get an idea of what’s in store for you on your journey. If you’re still not convinced this game is worth the six bucks, then perhaps you should download the free demo.
