Expendables 3 just lived up to it’s name, by proving that even one of the film’s biggest stars is… well expendable.  The “visionary” behind the highly successful testosterone-fest, Sylvester Stallone, sent our two tweets, one after another.  The first on was;

One can only assume the second slight was at the expense of the famously difficult to work with Willis.  His bouts with Directors, Crew, and Co-Stars are the things of Hollywood legend.   It has been confirmed by The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider that Ford will play an entirely new character, and not simply take over Willis’ role.   Red Hill director Patrick Hughes is slated to help the third installment who’s cast has grown to include; Jackie ChanNicolas CageWesley Snipes, Kellan Lutz, and Milla Jovovich, and we should hear more casting news in the coming weeks. There has been a lot of chatter about Mel Gibson joining the team as one of the film’s villains, but no official word has been given.  Stay tuned here for the inevitable response from Willis, and the continuing casting couch that is The Expendables.

Production on Expendables 3 should begin later this year or early next year, as the film is slated for release on August 15, 2014.
