Spielberg told he couldn’t direct a BOND film

20121126-123011.jpgBefore starting production on Raiders of the Lost Ark, Steven Spielberg says he approached the Broccoli family, which has produced the Bond films for 50 years, about directing his own 007 film. The answer: a resounding negative.

“I went to Cubby Broccoli and I asked if I could do one and he said: ‘No,’ I’ve never asked again,” Spielberg said. “Instead, I made the ‘Indiana Jones’ series.”

Spielberg’s current hit, Lincoln, is now competing at the box office with the latest Bond installment, Skyfall. When asked if he’s seen it, Spielberg said “I’ve seen it once, and I’ll see it a second time.”

I wonder what a Spielberg Bond would be like?

    • Haha I wonder why they said no. Seems kind of silly to say no to Spielberg, but what can you do?
