Sling TV

Sling TV has finally made its way onto consoles starting with the Xbox One. Sling TV is a live television service that doesn’t require a cable subscription. Simply download the app on your Xbox One to sign up for the 30 day free trial and you’ll be able to enjoy live programming on ESPN, ESPN 2, TBS, TNT, AMC, Adult Swim, the Disney Channel and more.

The service will run you $20 a month with the option to add more channel packages for $5 each. Sling TV also offers access to video-on-demand services and certain shows listed as “Available Now” can be watched up to three days after the show airs. It’s worth mentioning the normal trial period is only 7 days, but keep in mind you will have to provide credit card information in order to sign up.

Those of you that wish to avoid cable companies can subscribe to Hulu Plus ($8), Netflix ($8) HBO NOW ($15) Sling TV ($20) and finally Amazon Prime ($99 annual fee). I realize Amazon looks expensive, but it boils down to $8.25 a month and you get an insane amount of bang for your buck. So for $60 a month you can break away from cable and stream hours of content. Of course you will need to pay for an internet connection…
