See the Future In DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

A new website popped up recently introducing us to the world of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Showing images of an overgrown Muir Woods and downtown San Francisco in 2026, we get a peek at the aftermath of the Simian virus from Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Each image is interactive, and clicking around displays little tidbits of information on the newly evolved ape civilization, as well as how it’s impacted humanity. Some screenshots below:

It looks like things went downhill for the human world pretty quickly after the Simian virus wiped out most of the population. Although we don’t get much more about what the film will cover in general, it definitely helps set the scene on the heels of the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes trailer that was released last month.

The official synopsis for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
