RUMOR – DIE HARD 6 to be called DIE HARDEST and be set in Tokyo.

A Good Day to Die Hard.  The film lacked everything that made the originals so gret, and the domestic box office was underwhelming at best.  Staying true to it’s title though, work is underway on Die Hard 6.  Tentatively titled “Die Hardest“, Ben Trebilcook is reportedly writing a treatment.  Trebilcook is currently at work on the videogame-themed action film Knockout, which gave him an in with A Good Day to Die Hard consulting producer, Larry D. Webster. Only Fox can officially sanction a new script, so either Webster is writing it at the behest of the studio, or someone has dropped the ball in the communication train.

According to Total Film, “Details are scarce at the moment, but we know that the story begins in New York, before moving to Tokyo, which will be the predominant location.”  Hopefully we’ll get to hear McClane groan, “I’m on vacation!” about a hundred more times.  Fans shouldn’t lose faith yet, the project is a long way from getting the support from Bruce Willis and producer Alex Young.  “[There’s] the possibility producers might go back and find some other source material to base the next one on, like they did with the first and second,” says Trebilcook. “Mine though, I feel it could be the Rocky Balboa of the Die Hard franchise.”  Does this mean that Die Hard 6 will go back to the roots of the character?

What do you think?  Would you be interested in a 6th Die Hard Film?

If it's done right, and truly is the "Rocky Balboa" of the franchise, then I'm there!
