Rocketeer Action Figure Coming in May

Rocketeer Action Figure

The Rocketeer action figure from Funko is landingĀ on shelves and flying into our hearts next month. The 3 3/4 inch figure comes with his iconic helmet and jetpack. Err… rocketpack. His face looks a little silly, but the helmet will solve that problem nicely.

The Rocketeer was created by Dave Stevens and first appeared in comics in 1982. Walt Disney Pictures eventually put the jetpack wearing hero onĀ the big screen in 1991. The feature was directed by Joe Johnston, who later went on to direct Captain America: The First Avenger. Geek Legacy’s own Randy Van Dyke, is a huge fan of the film, and you better believe he’ll get his geeky hands on the Rocketeer action figure immediately.

If you’re in the dark on this pulp hero, all you need to know is he’s a stunt pilot named Cliff Secord, who got his hands on a jetpack prototype, which he uses to fight crime and Nazis.

    • Yes!!! I hope this figure makes it out onto store shelves! I’ve been dreaming of seeing something like this in the toy aisles since I was a kid. Either way, I’ve got mine preordered online, so it is destined to be mine.

I can’t wait to see the other lines FUNKO puts out in this scale. Back to the Future, and Goonies are also coming out later this year, and you better believe they’ll all make their way into my collection!
