Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 Crossover Event

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 1:16 pm by Justin Cavender

Capcom and Valve announced today a Resident Evil 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 project. This crossover will see characters from Left 4 Dead 2 featured in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil 6, and enemies from RE6 will swarm the PC version of L4D2. All content will be free to access and play.

Resident Evil 6 gamers will be able to play as survivors Coach, Nick, Ellis, and Rochelle from Left 4 Dead 2, whilst playing the PC exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy.  Additionally, two special zombie types from L4D2 (the Witch and Mini Tank), will also make an appearance. The content will automatically be downloaded for the PC version of RE6 on April 5.

Just when you thought you had enough horrible enemies to mow down in L4D2, the folks at Capcom decided to throw Lepotitsa, Napad, and Ogroman from RE6 your way. On the plus side, you’re a survivor and there is nothing you can’t handle. So what if you have three new baddies coming your way? You got this, just remember to steal your buddy’s health packs and you’ll be fine.

Chet Faliszek from Valve stated: “We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”

Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added: “The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.”

Exciting stuff and our “Friendship Fridays” over at Geek Legacy will never be the same. Resident Evil 6 players should stay clear of the Witch and Tank; those two nasty bastards will kill you in a heartbeat.
