Not as intense as last year’s E3 showing, Days Gone once again made an appearance during Sony’s E3 2017 Press Conference. This time around though gone were the endless stream of zombies and the barnyard setting, instead putting Deacon St. John (played by Sam Witwer) in a smaller locale setting.

Leaving a settlement, Deacon is sent somewhere when he is interrupted and tossed from his ride by a pair who wants his motorcycle. After taking both of them, out he finds a familiar abandoned cycle and begins following a path to find it’s rider. Moving past some bodies being hung upside down to deter intruders, Deacon comes across another small group of survivors who he ends up distracting to sneak past.

After running into a group of zombies chowing down he ends up walking past a broken fence unto an enemy encampment and spots his friend. Showcasing the choice of execution, he places some C4 on the fence and blows it, using the zombie hoard as a distraction to drive out the enemies and rescue his buddy. After a tense standoff, the pair soak in a small lull in the action before being interrupted by something large: a bear zombie!

Days Gone is slated for a 2018 release on the Playstation 4.
