Promo for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Sprinkles in New Footage

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may have broken a few records with its premiere, but there’s another superhero face off coming this May. As we get closer to Captain America: Civil War on May 6th, any new piece of footage is good footage, which brings us to the latest TV spot that comes via Marvel India’s YouTube channel.

A few new scenes, including a foreboding look from Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, have been sprinkled in with repeat footage, though that scuffle bit between Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) is worth a re-watch. The most illuminating scene offers a new angle on a scene in which police swarm Bucky (Sebastian Stan) and Cap (Chris Evans). It appears to come after Black Panther chased him down and wrecked his motorcycle, but we now also see that Don Cheadle’s War Machine was a part of this pursuit.

Watch the promo below.

Rhodey is one character we’ve seen relatively little of throughout the marketing campaign so far, and trailers tease his demise. On the other hand, the Winter Soldier promos played up the death of Nick Fury, but we all know how that one turned out. Regardless what all this really means for James Rhodes, we should probably be keeping a better eye on him.

Captain America: Civil War introduces the Sokovia Accords, a governmental effort to impose harsher restrictions on superhuman activity and a system of accountability on The Avengers. The action, in addition to the reappearance of The Winter Soldier, splits our heroes in two with factions forming around Iron Man, who supports the Accords, and Captain America, who fights against them. With the exception of Thor and possibly, maybe Hulk, everybody else is returning to the fray, while the crop of newcomers includes Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Frank Grillo’s now fully formed Crossbones, Daniel Bruhl’s Baron Zemo, and Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross.
