Super Smash Bros. for Wii U pre-order

Nintendo announced today that eager little gamers can pre-load Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on their consoles. The idea here is to get a jump on the installation process and smash face as soon as possible when the game launches on November 21. It’s worth noting at the time of your pre-purchase, a significant amount of data will be pre-loaded onto your console. When the game launches on the Nintendo eShop at 12:00 AM ET, the final data needed to unlock the full game will automatically download.

Pre-orders for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U have surpassed Mario Kart 8. In an interview with Bloomberg News, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime expects the release of Smash Bros. to have an impact on hardware sales.

“The launch of Mario Kart 8 has essentially doubled our Wii U sales year-on-year,” Fils-Aime said. “Our expectation is that the sell-through for Smash is going to be very strong, certainly on par with what we saw with Mario Kart 8. We think the impact on hardware will be similarly dramatic.”
