No Bill Murray in Ghostbusters 3

It is a very sad day indeed. Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that Ghostbusters 3 will not feature Dr. Peter Venkman, the character famously portrayed by Bill Murray in the first 2 films. Speaking to the Metro, Aykroyd said…

“No, I can tell you he won’t be involved.”

Later when asked if the story would revolve around the other 3 Ghostbusters or a new team Aykroyd said…

“It’s sad, but we’re passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn’t seem to be coming and we have to move on. It’s time to make a third one.”

I am extremely disappointed and have to wonder why Murray wouldn’t want to be involved. Is the script bad, has me moved on, or is he just above being funny these days?

What do you think? Will you watch a non-Murray Ghostbusters? What do you think about a new cast?

Well that sucks. I'll probably still watch it but not with the same excitement and anticipation I would have if Bill Murray was in it. Sad.

It seems like the absence of Murray killed the classic Ghostbusters and now we get the Next Generation. Bummer!!

    • Yeah that definitely sucks. I'll probably still check it out though. Maybe once they start filming and get it off the ground, Murray will get talked into a cameo.

I'll Watch it but am not nearly as excited as I was a couple hours ago.
