Nintendo has Sold Over 20 Million 3DS Games in U.S.

It’s no secret Nintendo has found success with the 3DS and dominates the handheld market. According to the NPD Group, 3DS games have crossed 20 million total units sold at retail in the United States. It will be interesting to see how Nintendo preforms with their upcoming titles for the 3DS starting with LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins on April 24.

March Sales

  • Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon sold nearly 365,000 physical units.
  • Fire Emblem Awakening sold an additional 64,000 combined physical and digital physical copies.
  • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity sold more than 145,000 combined physical and digital units.
  • Total sales of Nintendo 3DS software at retail increased by more than 50 percent over March 2012.

  • Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D on May 24
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf on June 9
  •  Mario and Luigi: Dream Team on Aug. 11
