We’ve got a pair of new clips from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug to share with you today.  They’re a bit Elf-centric and are highly conversational, but they give a nice introduction to both Evangeline Lilly and Lee Pace’s characters, while giving Lord of the Rings fans lots of Legolas (Orlando Bloom) to take a gander at. It’s almost as if Peter Jackson wants to apologize for the first Hobbit film by reminding you that he made the amazing Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Luke Evans, Stephen Fry, Richard Armitage, Sylvester McCoy, John Bell, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Graham McTavish, Michael Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O’Gorman, Mikael Persbrandt, Ken Stott, Aidan Turner and the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens in 2D, 3D, IMAX 3D, and HFR 3D on December 13th.  Hit the jump to watch the clips.
