Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In the upcoming sequel, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds himself surrounded by antagonistic forces as Electro (Jamie Foxx) emerges, Parker’s old friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) returns to New York City, and everyone seems to have a connection to the shady goings-on at Oscorp. This new trailer is a mash-up of the trailers we’ve seen over the past few months with a few bits of new action thrown in. I can’t believe this film isn’t out yet based on all the trailers, images, posters, and interviews. I am getting worried that we know everything and that all the glimpses we have gotten have spoiled too much for us. Of course I will see it, and probably be blown away by it, but it is a small concern I have.
The film also stars Emma Stone, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak, Colm Feore, and Sally Field. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 3D on May 2nd.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
