New Trailer for LEFT BEHIND Puts Nicholas Cage in the Middle of the Rapture

When a new Left Behind adaptation was announced, it sounded odd considering that the original film adaptation mainly appealed to a Christian audience, which makes sense since they deal with the Rapture.  Once Nicolas Cage signed on you could hear the world’s eyes rolling in their heads.  Then the first trailer was okay, but looked more like a Lifetime Original than a real movie, the atrocious poster below doesn’t help it’s case.  But now a new Left Behind trailer has gone online, and the film looks, not terrible.  In fact, it kind of reminds me a lot of The Leftovers except it looks like it isn’t just a grief-fest with everyone moping about and crying.  The film looks like it might get to the core of the big questions instead of avoiding them like their HBO counterpart seems content doing.

The film opens October 3rd, and also stars Chad Michael Murray, Lea Thompson, Jordin Sparks, Cassi Thompson, Nicky Whelan, Quinton Aaron, and Martin Klebba.
