New Trailer for HOUSE OF CARDS Season 2

Netflix released another trailer for House of Cards season 2, and it’s got me even more pumped than the last one! There’s a little more extra tidbits in what we can come to expect from the latest season, not the least of which is Frank Underwood getting one step closer to the coveted highest office in the land. Check out the trailer below:

From the YouTube description:

Frank’s rapid ascension to the heights of power means big changes for both him and Claire, but his sudden rise creates powerful enemies and the increasing chance that his dark secrets will be exposed.

There is but one rule: Hunt or be hunted.

Season two, exclusively on Netflix in all territories on February 14, 2014.

It looks like all the major players are returning for season 2, even Claire’s on-the-side-sometimes-boyfriend, Adam Galloway. I can only assume that means Claire’s affair with him will come into play somehow. As much as I find the political intrigue both fascinating and frightening, I’m most curious to see how Claire handles the increased scrutiny on her life once Frank becomes VP, as well as whether her affair will start to wear away at their trust in one another. It started to last season; and although Claire did eventually come back, I doubt that Frank forgot just how long it took her to do so. One of the most interesting relationships in the show is their marriage, not the least of which because they’re fiercely loyal to each other in the pursuit of shamelessly achieving their own ends. Whether that continues to be an asset or a liability for them remains to be seen.

Even though he’s close to getting what he wants, Underwood is by no means free and clear. Will his past crimes result in the whole thing falling down around his ears, or will he literally continue to get away with murder? We’ll just have to wait another month to find out!

Are you excited for the return of House of Cards? Do you think that Underwood will get his comeuppance, or is he too slippery and slimy to be caught?
