There’s no doubt that advances in technology and software are also having a huge effect on how online games are made and proliferate across the world. The Internet especially is making online gaming a huge industry that eats away at our free time and our wallets. Where before we had to wait months for the newest console game to come out, now there are literally hundreds of new games being released online on a multitude of websites. Because these games are so easy to make and deploy, we’re also seeing a huge increase in casual games that are simple, fun, and take little to no time to learn.

Of course, just because they’re simple doesn’t mean they don’t monopolize our time. I’ve written in the past about casual games and how they can suck you in with really simple gameplay, fun graphics, and a sense of instant gratification. Some of my favorite games are the casual kinds, like Big Fish Games’ Fairway Solitaire (which I also play constantly on my phone), or or simple little puzzle games like the marvelous Two Dots. People need casual games because of how easy they are to pick up and play. It’s relaxing and fun, and it gives us a way to turn off our brains for a little while.

Another type of casual game that’s really more of a huge online industry is that of online casino gaming. Gaming technology has allowed us to move past just card games into themed slots, scratch card games, arcade games, video poker, and more. Because those games are so easy to make now, there are an infinite number of ways that people can have fun playing games online, while also getting that instant gratification of actually winning real money. You can also choose whether you want to download the actual games, or just play in your browser, ensuring that you get exactly the gaming experience that you want to have. Some sites, such as Casino.com, also have mobile options too, so you can continue to play on the go.

The best part about better technology in gaming is the vast improvement in graphics, and this is especially apparent in online casino games. Instead of just clicking on 8-bit graphics of a playing card, you get to see fun animations and better interactions between the gamer and the game itself. Pointing and clicking can be kind of boring without great graphics, so the sheer variety and diversity of online casino games now can keep anyone occupied in gaming fun for hours on end. So the next time you’re looking for something fun and easy to play, look no further than online games for and entertaining and relaxing time.
