New Red Band Trailer for THE INTERVIEW

Funny thing about The Interview, it was never meant to be judged against the international incident and controversy surrounding it.  It was meant to simply come out and be enjoyed by those who were excited to see it because they like these kinds of movies, not people who wanted to see “the movie that Kim Jong Un doesn’t want you to see.”  The movie is 100% a comedy, not a political satire like Dr. Strangelove.  And it works damn well as a comedy. The movie had an impressive debut last week, and now that it’s on iTunes it should have a pretty good second week as well.  It’s not for everyone, but if you liked This Is the End, there’s a strong chance you’ll enjoy this one too. The movie stars Seth Rogen, James Franco, Lizzy Caplan and Randall Park and is now in theaters and on VOD.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Interview:

In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show “Skylark Tonight.” When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.
