New Poster for NOAH Featuring Russell Crowe, Heavy Rain, and an Axe

Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic Noah is already slated to have a spot at the Super Bowl, and in advance of that Paramount has just released a new poster. The film is Aronofsky’s take on the Great Flood story from the Bible, and as we can see in this new poster, the filmmaker is going heavy on the “epic” portion of the tale. Russell Crowe sprouts a pretty grungy beard and an axe in the heave rain. Aronofsky has been passionate about bringing Noah to the screen for years, so I’m interested to see what his vision for the pic entails.  From what we’ve seen so far, Noah looks to be the filmmaker’s most “commercial” work yet, but time will tell if that’s just Paramount trying to appeal to the widest possible audience.  I’m hopeful for some Aronofsky weirdness.

The film also stars Ray Winstone, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, and Anthony Hopkins.  Noah opens in traditional theaters and IMAX on March 28th.

Here’s the official logline for Noah:

Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe stars as Noah, a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world.
