With the December 14th release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey swiftly approaching, Warner Bros. has released the official Hobbit app in the app store. It contains many production and behind the scenes stills. Amongst the many Dwarf photos is our first look at the Elvish king, Thranduil who is also Legolas’ father. He is portrayed by Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies). Click the thumbnails to enlarge.

The app is loaded with behind-the-scenes media, story information, character images, production stills, and even the iconic map of Middle Earth.

What do you guys think. I’m starting to get pretty excited. Only three months to go.

As excited as I am for this movie, I just can't get excited by these pictures. It doesn't feel like anything new to me. I want to see more than just character pics! Show me some action!
