New Diablo 3 Patch is Live With Lots of Changes Including Loot 2.0

Blizzard has unleashed patch 2.0.1 for Diablo 3 and this beast is a game changer. Personally I’m super excited for loot 2.0, which brings us the “smart drop” system. The idea here being that items will cater to the class you’re currently playing. Furthermore, class specific items will no longer have stats which are useless to their class. For example, a shiny new legendary wand won’t come with strength. High-five Blizz!

New difficulty modes have also been introduced in the patch. Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno modes have been replaced with Normal, Hard, Expert, Master, and Torment. As it stands Normal, Hard, and Expert modes are available immediately. Meanwhile, Master unlocks after completing Act IV and Torment becomes available when your character reaches level 60. It’s important to note that Torment features six degrees of difficulty, but with more powerful monsters comes greater rewards.

Be sure to check out the official patch notes to read all about the new social features (clans and communities) class changes, itemization, monster affixes, boss encounters, and much MUCH more! Don’t forget the auction house is going away on March 18, and the new expansion, Reaper of Souls, launches a week later on March 25. Be there or be square.
