New Clip from LAVA Will Make You Say “Ahhhh” to a Volcano.

Pixar just released a new clip from the 10 minute short Lava, and it somehow humanizes a volcano. You know, those mountains synonymous with lave and death.  The studio doesn’t have a feature film slated for release this year, at least not since they pushed The Good Dinosaur to 2015, so this clip could be all we get from them for a while.  The short is a “musical love story” that revolves around two anthropomorphic volcanoes, and now you can hear one of those volcanoes (named Uku) sing.

Directed by James Ford Murphy, the short will play in front of Inside Out in theaters starting June 19, 2015.

Here’s the official synopsis for Lava:

Inspired by the isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes, “LAVA” is a musical love story that takes place over millions of years.
